Turkey Hand Cookies

I found a fun/easy recipe for Turkey Hand Cookies and the kids and I had fun making/eating them yesterday:

November Update

Here's a quick update on some recent happenings as well as some recent photos from this month:
-Celebrated Dirk's bday
-All set to begin a bathroom remodel that we've been wanting to do since we moved in two years ago
-Will got his first 'real' hair cut (lots of tears and wailing at the time, but now that it's done, he talks about it as if it was the most fun thing ever). Will's favorite things lately: eating sugar, emergency vehicles, taking all the cushions/pillows/blankets off the couch and playing in them. He is very much a 2 year old and discipline has been a major theme lately ('Trust and Obey' is a frequently sung hymn in our house). He talks in full sentences and has for a while, and is hilarious. Kids do say the darndest things.
-Jane is chugging along, being the cutest little lady ever. Favorite things lately: looking at family pictures, dancing, following Will around, climbing into the dryer to play in the clean clothes, snuggling/rocking her dolls or anything that resembles a doll (including the little mini gingerbread men playing pieces from our Candyland game)

Musical Costumes

As expected, the costume didn't go over so well with Will on Halloween.
Here's how it played out:

Jane ended up in Will's spider costume at the party we attended on Friday morning:

Just when we had decided to throw in the towel on Will getting dressed up for trick or treating, he found a bat hat circa 1986 at my parent's house around 6 pm on Halloween night. He usually hates wearing hats but decided to wear that trick-or-treating last minute in their neighborhood (Mom/Dad--I need pictures of this). Go figure.
Lesson learned: strong willed 2 year olds and forced costume wearing don't mix. Next year we'll have a 2 year old and a 3 year old, so we'll probably just forget costumes all together. Sorry to Nedra that the cute spider costume you made didn't get worn by Will. At least Jane had fun being a spider/lady bug!
