Every winter storm in WA gets a nickname. This year is no different. We are at the tailend of Snowmaggedon 2012: Snow, ice storm, more snow, power outages and freezing temperatures. I haven't been able to get the car out of the driveway since Tuesday, but we've been safe and warm here in the house. We only lost power for about an hour, compared to others who have been in the dark for days. We also have friends who have been trying to get home from a trip to California since Wednesday, and are still stuck there due to cancelled flights coming into Seatac Airport. The only damage we sustained from the storm was a downed tree at our Renton house. John is headed over there tomorrow with a saw to take care of business. Here are some pics from our adventures this week:
A couple of weeks ago, we celebrated our niece Evey's 5th birthday cowgirl style. It's crazy that Will and Evey are turning 5 this year. On the other hand, I don't even really remember what life was like before God gave us our amazing kids. And there's been another addition to our extended family: Evey and John have been blessed with a new little foster sister and it was great getting to hold her at the party. I won't post pics of her for now, but she sure is a sweet and precious girl!
The resort we stayed at, though a bit far from all the attractions we visited, was very comfortable and fun to hang out at. There were numerous pools, hot tubs, splash pads for the kids, restaurants, live music, golf courses, and a u-fish pond. We spent a lot of time enjoying the amenities and relaxing as a family. Thanks to Mom and Dad for treating us to such a fun vacation!
Polars Bear, Walruses, Turtles, Penguins, Dolphins and Shamu (oh, and a mini-Sesame Street theme park right in the middle of it all). We loved Seaworld and definitely could have gone back for another day if we had the time/stamina.
