Simon, Party of 5

Come September, we will be a party of 5! We are so very excited :-) We got to hear the baby's heartbeat and see an ultrasound of baby and all looks good so far. Will was disappointed that we're not having twins. He wants another brother AND another sister. He was also a little disappointed that the baby(s) weren't in my arms this morning after my appointment. He thought I went to the doctor to have the baby.

In early preparation for baby's arrival, we made a trip to Ikea last weekend to get Will a new bed as his toddler bed was getting too small for him. Here's a picture of his luxurious new bed. Next to it, you can see the corner of Will's old bed, which will likely become Jane's new bed in a few months when Will and Jane become roomates.

Celebrating Libby's #28 in West Seattle

It started out like any normal party: kids playing, cake eating, present opening...

Then things just got crazy...

It's always a good time at the Myers house. Love you, Libby!

Sick house

It's been a long week with John traveling and the kids, especially Jane, being sick with some kind of virus. Thankfully, the weather in Seattle happens to be a beautiful 60 degrees, so even though I didn't get many smiling pictures today, the kids and I could at least get out of the house to enjoy the warmth and fresh air.

And....we can bathe again!

After a month of remodeling our main floor bathroom (which contains our one and only household bath tub), and with the exception of a few last items, it's finally done! We've been wanting to spruce up this bathroom since we bought the house over two years ago. The tile and bath tub were chipping, there was water damage to the ceiling and all of the fixtures were outdated and/or rusting.
We had a few stalls in the process, one being a week vacation taken by our contractor and another being an electrical mishap which took an electrician the better part of two days to figure out. Now we finally have a new tub, new tile, new fixtures, a skimmed/recoated ceiling and a new paint job (thanks to John and Dad for painting). The kids have literally taken three baths in the past 24 hours because they were so happy to have their "pool" back. They HATE showers so keeping them clean this past month has been a challenge. Hooray!

Here's a photo of the bathroom mid-way through the remodel:
