Dino Day at the Woodland Park Zoo

Will loved it (obviously).

Jane was terrified, especially after the Dilophosaurus (think the spitting dinosaur from Jurassic Park) looked at us, squaked and "spit" water all over us. Jane and Joy immediately started crying hysterically. I may have also screamed :-)

Joy at 8 months

At 8 months, Joy is doing log rolls, has one tooth coming in, loves to eat, and is doing well sharing a room with her Big Sis. Sometimes Jane will decide that she needs to be loud (she knows that she has to be quiet when Joy is sleeping) and will move into the bonus room to sleep :-)
My favorite time of day spent with Joy is when I come in to get her up from a nap. She gets so excited to see me and kicks her whole body. Sometimes Jane will come with me to get her up and Joy squeals with delight when she sees her sister.
Joy still likes to wake up 1-2 times/night to eat but that's okay with me, I know that she's growing like a weed! She's quickly catching up with Will and Jane. I'll bet she's pushing 25# at her 9 month appointment.

Our trip to Post Falls, Idaho

Last week, John and I were lamenting that he'd have to go on a 5-day business trip to Idaho. He travels quite a bit for work, but it's typically 2 or 3 nights at most so this one was longer than normal. Rather than miss him at home, we decided to take a road trip to Idaho to be with him. We all had a great time and the kids did better than expected during the 5 hour car trip. We stayed in the hotel where John's convention was located so he could stop in throughout the day to say hi and check on us. The kids and I could take the car during the day to visit local parks and shopping malls and evenings were spent exploring Post Falls, Coeur d' Alene and Spokane.
Highlights included visits to Raptor Reef Water Park, downtown Spokane, Cabelas and the Spokane River. We hope to do more trips like this in the future!

Will and Jane at the Dentist

Will and Jane went to the dentist a few weeks ago and although I forgot the camera, my trusty Blackberry came in handy to properly document the occasion. The kids had a great time at the dentist, until Jane said, "Uh oh, my tummy" and proceeded to lose her lunch at the end of the visit.
My poor girls and their sensitive tummies, but that's a whole other topic.
Anyway, here are a couple pictures of Will and Jane enjoying the royal treatment. If you are parent to a wee-one, I highly recommend finding a pediatric dentist, at least for the first few visits. Will is not too keen on new situations, and he did great thanks to the staff and welcoming, "kid-friendly" environment.

May Days

Jane's been under the weather

Joy is sitting up, got her first tooth, rolling over and even "dancing" (bobbing her body when she hears music or singing)

We had fun going through lots of stuff and had a yard sale last weekend
