Our little Garden

It's been fun watching our vegetable patch grow this summer. Despite cooler than normal temperatures, we've had a good harvest of lettuce, sweet peas, and blueberries. I'm still waiting on the strawberries, zucchini and pumpkin. Our pear trees don't look very healthy, so we'll see what kind of fruit they produce this fall. So far, Jane has been my biggest helper in the garden. She likes to help me pick weeds and tend the garden. Will and Joy like eating the bounty.

Missing Grandma in Suncadia

We recently returned from a fun trip to Suncadia with family/extended family. The weather only kinda-sorta cooperated, but we still made it to the pool every day and had a great time riding bikes, talking around the fire pit and eating lots of good food. This trip was especially memorable because our dear Grandma Mary (John's Grandma) passed away peacefully, surrounded by family, while we were away. She has been going downhill since having surgery a month ago and God finally took her home. She was so ready to go, and we are glad that she is finally free of her earthly chains and is able to be in God's presence in the place He has been preparing for her. It was wonderful being together as a family to grieve and rejoice during this bittersweet time. This week has been surreal at times, coming to the realization that she is gone, for now.

Here are some pictures of our time in Suncadia as well as a few pictures of Grandma:

Jane counting

Make room for me!

Now that Joy can sit up and crawl on her own, she's wanting to join in on more activities with her siblings:
